The Link at Ginninderry is a new multi-purpose community and information facility adjacent to the Strathnairn Arts Association. The centre is a hub for a range of services and facilities including exhibition spaces, workshops and training, and café and catering.
Designed by architects Collard Clarke Jackson and built by Manteena, an important goal for the project was to utilise environmentally-friendly building materials. As a result Castle Glazing ACT was proud to fabricate and install all aluminium windows and doors throughout the building.
The ThermalHEART commercial range from AWS was used for its thermal efficiency and strong environmental credentials, as rated under the Australian Window Energy Rating Scheme (WERS).
Other sustainable features of the building are a large solar cell on the roof to generate the building’s power and large rainwater tanks to provide water for toilets and to help irrigate drought tolerant gardens.
